Beth Dougherty
Experience Team, Substitute Teacher, Guest Choreographer
Beth Dougherty began her dance training at the age of eight under the direction of Marilyn Budzynski in Warminster, Pennsylvania. When Marilyn founded Dance Theatre of Pennsylvania in Doylestown, Beth continued her training there, building a strong classical foundation that would shape her dance career.
Throughout her years of training, Beth studied with many distinguished instructors, including Cherie Noble, Jon Sherman, Michael Lopuszanski, Karla Krochak, and Michael Krochak. She also had the opportunity to perform with Philadelphia Civic Ballet and the company now known as Philadelphia Ballet.
As a junior in high school, Beth earned a prestigious scholarship to attend the Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts at Mercyhurst College, where she continued her studies in classical ballet and choreography. She also attended the Altoona Summer Dance Program, where she received a Jazz Award for her outstanding performance.
Beth has known Mr. Michael since he was five years old, and their shared love of dance has grown into a lifelong friendship. She later met Miss Susan, celebrated their wedding alongside them, and has remained a cherished part of the Synergy family ever since. Most recently, Beth worked alongside Miss Liz to help bring one of Synergy's favorite traditions to life by choreographing the Party Scene in our production of The Nutcracker.
With training rooted in both the Vaganova and Balanchine methods, Beth brings a wealth of knowledge, artistry, and experience into every class she teaches. As one of Synergy's Ballet Specialists, she is passionate about helping dancers develop strong technique, confidence, discipline, and an appreciation for the beauty and artistry of dance. Beth is excited to continue sharing her love of ballet while inspiring the next generation of dancers to reach their fullest potential.
