Lydia Ciaffone

Lydia Ciaffone -  dance school teacher

Lydia Ciaffone is a dance artist and educator originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Lydia was a 2021 artist resident at La Macina Di San Cresci where she presented her newest solo work segnalibro in Tuscany, Italy.

Lydia’s choreography has also been performed in London, England and many stages around the East Coast. Lydia is now earning her Masters of Arts in Choreography from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Dance and Music in London, England. (Expected December 2022). There, she worked with artists such as Gary Lambert, Ruth Gibson, Lizzi Kew Ross, Theo Lowe and Vania Gala. Lydia also collaborated with Candoco Dance Company and performed in Candocos Dance in a Day.

Lydia graduated with her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of The Arts, under the direction of Donna Faye Burchfield. There, Lydia performed in works by Beth Gill, Sidra Bell, Jesse Zaritt, Paul Matteson, Anne White and more. After graduating, Lydia began teaching dance full time. Her unique processes and international education in dance making gives her a wide perspective on choreography and contemporary techniques. She has experience working with diverse learners and movers. Lydia yearns to help expand knowledge, give tools, and create safe environments to learn and make.

Lydia joined the Synergy Teaching Team in 2022.
